One of the things we love to do here at the Minnesota Property Group is share stories. Today we have a unique home with an unusual story we want to share. This beautiful Medina home, light shining through its windows, is looking for a new family.
This stunning residence built in 2016 debuted as a David Weekley model home, featuring many thoughtful upgrades added by the builder. When the current owners took a tour, they knew they had found their forever home.
In their own words, “When we purchased this house, we were planning on making it our forever home. The floor plan was perfect. The interior sparkled with all the finishes that showcase a builder’s talent and imagination, but we invested in touches that elevated the feeling of the space from house to home.”
Exterior Upgrades
The current owners painted the entire exterior white to carry the theme of lightness inside to the outside as well. But they didn’t stop there. Additional upgrades to enhance the enjoyment of the home and add to the quality of life include storm gutters, insulated garage doors “to help keep the garage more cozy in winter,” an invisible fence for the pets, several large trees to enhance the landscaping and provide more privacy, and a radon mitigation system. They said, “though the radon test was below the threshold, we didn’t want any question as to keeping our little ones safe as they enjoyed basement play space.”
Inside the Home
Custom is the word of the day for this elegant home. Custom light fixtures to add personality to the living space. Custom Hunter Douglas window coverings were carefully selected to enhance the beauty of the oversized windows. A custom mini kitchen in the finished lower level is a thoughtful addition for visiting family and friends to feel at home in their guest quarters.
Touches of Elegance and Style
Marble tile surrounds the fireplace and a mother of pearl wall in the powder room to remind us of global adventures. Speakers and a receiver provide music in the gourmet kitchen making cooking an event instead of a chore. A finished hardwood floor in the flex room at the front of the home and a wood ceiling with white beams take this space beyond the norm.
Upgrades By the Builder
As a builder’s model, this home has some outstanding upgrades. They include oversized windows, gourmet kitchen with upgraded cabinets, center island, and countertops. Also upgraded material include plumbing fixtures tile in kitchen and bathrooms, flooring throughout the home, wiring in lower level theater, landscaping, elevation, paint, wet bar on the main level, and Trex Deck.
A Personal Note from The Current Owners
Dear Future Owners,
We are sorry to contemplate leaving the home that seems to smile at us each morning as the light shines in its windows. We are even sadder to be leaving the friendly neighbors, nature trails, beautiful parks, and quiet neighborhood that have been a dream come true.
Since this home was intended to be our “forever home,” we spent thousands of dollars getting it just the way we wanted it. Then a relocation possibility arose, we had the house appraised, and listed at the appraised value for $785,000 only three months ago. Since that time, we have dropped the price substantially, as the out of state work opportunities await us.
We hope the new owners will love this house as much as we do. We are confident that you will see the value in all of the extra touches a newly finished house does not have and hope that when you open the door for the first time as the new owner, you will feel the house smile warmly at you, too.
